Mechanic

Mechanicville CSD is looking to fill a full-time Mechanic vacancy in our Transportation Department, to start as soon as possible. 

Hours:

(when school is in session)Monday-Friday 7am-4pm, with one hour unpaid lunch

(when school is not in session): Monday–Friday 7am-3pm, with a 30-minute paid lunch

Benefits per the CSEA contract include: Health, dental, vision, NYS retirement, paid sick, vacation, personal and holidays.

Substitute Bus Drivers for 2026-2027

Mechanicville City School District is seeking reliable, safety-conscious individuals to join our team as Substitute School Bus Drivers. In this role, you will play a vital part in our educational community by ensuring our students travel safely to and from school, athletic events, and field trips.

This position offers exceptional flexibility and is ideal for retirees, stay-at-home parents, or anyone looking to earn supplemental income while keeping a schedule that aligns with the school calendar (summers, holidays, and weekends off).

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate school buses and transport students along assigned district routes.

  • Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with NYS Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment on the bus, managing student behavior professionally.

  • Strictly adhere to all NYS motor vehicle laws, New York State Education Department (NYSED) regulations, and district safety procedures.

  • Promptly report mechanical issues, delay notifications, or student behavioral incidents to the Transportation Supervisor.
