Special Education Teacher -Long Term Substitute

Mechanicville City School District is seeking a fulltime Long Term Substitute Special Education Teacher, to commence on September 26, 2025 or ASAP.

This position reports to the Director of Student Support Services. The Special Education Teacher develops and provides specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of all students with disabilities. This position requires adaptability and a positive attitude.

The position is across all grade levels.

Special Education Teacher Expectations:

  • Provides specialized instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student’s IEP.
  • Assesses student progress and determines the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques.
  • Employs various teaching techniques, methods and principles of learning to enable students to meet their IEP goals.
