Spanish Teacher 7-12

Mechanicville CSD is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and experienced Spanish Teacher for grades 7-12 to join our faculty, effective September 2, 2025. The ideal candidate will be passionate about language learning, committed to fostering student growth in the Spanish language, and dedicated to creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment. This role involves teaching Spanish to students in middle and high school, developing engaging lesson plans, and creating opportunities for students to build their language skills both in and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons that adhere to the curriculum standards for Spanish language education.
  • Teach Spanish grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening, speaking, and cultural topics.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and technology to engage students and differentiate instruction.
  • Assess student progress through assignments, projects, quizzes, and exams.
  • Provide regular feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance.
  • Foster a love of language and culture by organizing extracurricular activities such as Spanish clubs, cultural events, and language competitions.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to promote cross-curricular learning.
  • Maintain effective classroom management and uphold school policies and procedures.

Technology Teacher Grades 7-12

Mechanicville CSD is seeking an innovative, passionate, and dedicated Technology Teacher to join our high school educational team, effective September 2, 2025. The ideal candidate will provide engaging, hands-on instruction in various technology subjects to students in grades 7-12. This individual will inspire students to explore the world of technology while integrating critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity into the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach technology courses across multiple grade levels (Grades 7-12).
  • Develop and implement engaging, student-centered lesson plans that align with state and national standards.
  • Foster a classroom environment that promotes creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
  • Integrate technology tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Assess student progress through assignments, projects, and tests.
  • Provide individualized instruction and support to students as needed.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure interdisciplinary learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate with parents/guardians regularly.
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development, and extracurricular activities related to technology education.

Social Studies Teacher Grades 7-12

Mechanicville CSD is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Social Studies Teacher to join our Jr/Sr high school educational team, effective September 2, 2025. The ideal candidate will inspire students in grades 7-12 to explore history, geography, economics, and civics. The Social Studies Teacher will engage students through interactive lessons that foster critical thinking, analytical skills, and an appreciation for diverse cultures and historical perspectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Social Studies courses to students in grades 7-12, including but not limited to World History, U.S. History, Geography, Civics, and Economics.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that are aligned with state standards and promote critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Foster a classroom environment that encourages student participation, discussion, and collaborative learning.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and technology to engage students and enhance their learning experience.
  • Assess and monitor student progress through tests, projects, essays, and other formative assessments.
  • Provide individualized support to students to help them succeed academically and personally.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, school committees, and extracurricular activities as needed.
