Mechanicville City School District is seeking dynamic, dependable, and adaptable Substitute Teachers to join our instructional team across our elementary, middle, and high schools. As a substitute teacher, you will step into the classroom to maintain educational continuity, support student success, and foster a safe, positive learning environment when regular teachers are absent.

Implement established lesson plans provided by the primary classroom teacher to ensure instruction continues smoothly.
Manage student behavior effectively, applying positive reinforcement and following district classroom management guidelines.
Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners and varying grade levels.
Leave a detailed summary of daily accomplishments, student progress, and any behavioral notes for the returning classroom teacher.
Adhere to all district policies, school guidelines, and New York State Education Department (NYSED) protocols.
Preferred Qualification: Valid New York State (NYS) Teaching Certification (Initial, Professional, or Permanent) in any subject area/grade level or working towards certification
Must have a High School Diploma
Must hold or be willing to obtain NYSED Fingerprint Clearance via the TEACH system prior to employment.
