Job Description

The Mechanicville City School District is seeking a Special Education Teacher to lead a self-contained classroom (12:1:1) serving students in grades K-2. This role is critical in providing a supportive, structured, and highly individualized learning environment for early childhood learners with cognitive deficits, significant language needs, and diverse learning disabilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and monitor comprehensive IEPs tailored to each student’s unique cognitive and developmental profile.
• Adapt and modify the New York State learning standards to meet the functional and academic levels of students with significant delays.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administration, and families regarding the needs of students.
• Participate in CSE meetings

 

Salary:

Per MTA Contract
