Position Overview
Mechanicville CSD is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and student-centered Mathematics Teacher for Grades 7–12 to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and a talent for making math accessible, engaging, and relevant to a diverse student body.
In this role, you will implement a rigorous curriculum aligned with the New York State Next Generation Mathematics Learning Standards, guiding students from foundational middle school math through advanced high school courses and NYS Regents examinations.
Key Responsibilities

Instructional Excellence: Design and deliver clear, conceptual, and problem-solving-based lessons in accordance with NYS Next Generation Math Standards.

Regents Preparation: Thoroughly prepare students for success on NYS Mathematics Regents Exams (Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II) through targeted instruction and data-driven review.

Differentiated Instruction: Implement diverse teaching strategies to support all learners, including scaffolding for struggling students, accommodations for IEP/504/ELL populations, and extension opportunities for advanced learners.

Data-Driven Practice: Utilize formative and summative assessments to analyze student progress, diagnose learning gaps, and adjust instructional pacing accordingly.

Classroom Culture: Create a supportive, growth-mindset classroom environment where mistakes are viewed as valuable learning opportunities and mathematical discourse is encouraged.

Professional Collaboration: Actively participate in departmental meetings, grade-level professional learning communities (PLCs), parent-teacher conferences, and school-wide initiatives.
