Job Description

Mechanicville City School District anticipates hiring a full-time probationary Laborer, effective August 2025 (date TBD).

Days: Tuesday-Saturday

Hours: 7:00am -3:00pm (approx)

Salary and benefits per CSEA contract

Laborers are hired by the District to accomplish a diverse variety of tasks under the direct supervision of the Buildings and Grounds Supervisor, as outlined: 

• Mowing and trimming of grounds and sports fields

• Assists with the preparation of sports fields

• Assists with or performs normal maintenance of school properties

• Set up/take down for events in the auditorium, cafeteria, gymnasium, etc.

• Loading and unloading of supplies and materials

• Performs lock up or opening of facilities as directed

• Performs cleaning duties as requested 

• Painting and refurbishing work

• Operates plow trucks, mowers and tractors as needed

• Assist with snow removal and salting

• Must be available for "on call" for alarms

• Locker repairs and graffiti removal

• Performs other tasks as assigned by Supervisor

• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing and carpentry
